Mindful Monday: A Year of New Beginnings

A new year is upon us.

I know very little about numerology, and yet this year I find myself deeply intrigued by where we are collectively and personally. There’s something about this moment in time that feels meaningful—like a threshold we are standing on together.

According to numerology, we move through nine-year cycles that repeat themselves. Each year carries a particular energy and invitation.

2025 was a Year Nine—the end of a cycle. A time of completion, release, and letting go.

You may have noticed this showing up in your own life—changes in your interests, career, or relationships. Shifts in the way you think, old identities loosening, and long-held patterns or behaviours gently falling away.

Endings can feel exciting, tender, or sometimes a little scary.

Often, they arise because something deep within us longs to make space for what is ready to be born next.

Now we are stepping into 2026, a Year One—the beginning of a new cycle.

This is the energy of new beginnings, fresh starts, planting seeds, and opening to possibility.

Adding another layer, 2026 is also the Year of the Horse. The horse carries the energy of forward movement, momentum, freedom, and life force. There is a sense of things beginning to move after a time of stillness.

In contrast, 2025 was the Year of the Snake, a year of shedding old skins, deep transformation, and inner change. The work of the snake is quiet and often unseen.

The work of the horse is visible, embodied, and dynamic.

So, it wouldn’t surprise me if we begin to notice this shift in our own lives.

Something that once felt stalled, heavy, or without momentum may now begin to move. Doors may open. Energy may return. Clarity may arrive where there was once uncertainty.

I enjoy living life with intention and awareness.

Rather than standing on the sidelines, I like choosing to be an active participant. A co-creator with life and with the Divine.

Energetically, there is so much happening in the world right now. It can feel overwhelming at times.

That’s why I’ve been intentionally taking time to pause, reflect, and gently review this past year. To listen inward. To feel what truly inspires me at the level of the heart.

The word—the theme—that feels most alive in my soul is LOVE.

Love of the Divine.
Loving relationships.
Loving my body.
Seeing through the eyes of love.
Being an expression of Love.

This isn’t a forced intention.

It surfaced when I was quiet, reflecting.

It feels organic, spacious, and deeply rooted in truth.

And it has me wondering…

Is there a word that, when you think about it, creates an aliveness in your soul?

A word that opens your heart, softens your body, or lights something up inside you?

What is it?

Why does it matter so much to you?

What feelings does this evoke in your body?

Let go of trying to figure it out.

Listen to your heart speak.

This is a potent time to declare our intentions—not from pressure or striving, but from presence. To be here. To allow ourselves to be guided.

When we are anchored in presence, guidance arises naturally.

There is flow.

There is support.

There is a quiet knowing that we are not doing this alone.

I am so grateful to be sharing another year with you—walking together in this beautiful mystery we call life. None of us truly knows what will unfold, and yet there is something deeply comforting in meeting it with open hearts and gentle trust.

May your journey this year be blessed with ease, grace, and moments of unexpected beauty.

May we each come to know, again and again, the preciousness of our being and the inherent value of our existence—simply because we are here.

And if you feel called to explore this new cycle creatively and with a sense of play, I warmly invite you to join me on Saturday, January 31st, for a Vision Board Workshop.

With love,

Diane
