Remembering the Love We Are

Last night, I completed a four-day retreat devoted to exploring and embodying Love. This love is not something we find outside ourselves—it is a natural quality of our essential nature.

The experience was beautiful, transformative, and deeply touching. My heart has been awakened in new ways.

On Saturday, I stepped out of the retreat to speak at a women’s conference. I’m not sure I’ve ever done this before, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. To explore love in the retreat and then be present, bringing the teachings into practice, was profoundly moving—especially at a conference for women focused on wellness.

While out and about, I decided to visit the market to pick up some of my favorite foods. As I walked through the market, I consciously chose to be fully present in my body. In doing so, I became aware of how open my heart felt. I experienced a deep love for everyone I saw—strangers passing by, people talking, friends I recognized. It was beautiful to see people not as separate individuals, but as souls, all connected and part of the same whole.

I love love, and I’m quite sure I will be sharing more about this experience in the weeks and months to come.

For now, I would like to leave you with a post I saw last week from spiritual teacher Anita Moorjani. I am grateful that I met Anita eleven years ago when she offered a one-day workshop here in London before she became so well known. My experience of her was that she truly embodied love.

From Anita Moorjani...

The world needs love more than ever right now.

Not the kind of love that is packaged, purchased, or performed. Not the kind that exists for a photo, a post, or approval from others. But real love. Living love. Embodied love.

Love was never meant to be something we buy or display. It is something we become.

Love is presence.

Love is kindness in ordinary moments.

Love is compassion for strangers.

Love is gentleness with ourselves.

Love is the energy we choose to bring into every interaction.

When we live from love, we change the collective energy of this world.

You don’t need a partner to celebrate love.

You don’t need a special occasion to express love.

You don’t need to announce love online for it to be real.

You can send love right now.

Through your thoughts.

Through your actions.

Through your presence.

Today, I invite you to join me in something simple but powerful:

Let’s consciously send love into the world.

To the people we know.

To the people we don’t.

To the planet that holds us (which doesn’t need to be polluted by more disposable gifts in landfills).

To ourselves.

This is the kind of love that heals.

This is the kind of love the world is asking for.

And perhaps the most beautiful part is this: when we remember that love is our true nature, we don’t have to try so hard to create it. It is already here, quietly waiting to be lived, experienced and shared.

May we each find small ways, every day, to let that love move through us and into our family, friends, community, and the world.

With Love,

Diane
