Mindful Monday: Attitude is Everything…No, Really. It is.

Mindful Monday: Attitude is Everything…No, Really. It is.

So we hear it all of the time that “Attitude is everything”, right?

Well, check this out. When you add up the letters of ‘Attitude’ it equals 100.

That’s kind of cool, don’t you think?

No matter what we have been through in life we all still have a CHOICE of how we want to view ourselves and our lives.

Keeping a positive attitude isn't always easy, especially when we are going through a difficult time in your life, but like anything, the more we practice the easier it gets. It becomes our more natural way of being.

And when it comes down to it, positive, optimistic people are happier and healthier and enjoy more success than those who think negatively. The key difference between them is how they think about and interpret the events in their life.

Do you have a predictable thinking pattern?

The list of excuses or negative thoughts that take us into a downward, negative spiral is almost endless. Here are some of them….
• I can’t do this
• I never have enough money
• Things never go my way
• She always does this to me
• He always does this to me
• I'm too old. It's too late.
• I'm always sick
• I'm always alone
• I'm always stressed
• I'm not good...(smart, pretty, successful)...enough
• I can’t….I can’t...I can’t…

Do you notice a common thread that connects these excuses?  Negative Thinking!

What you focus on grows.

If you think you can, you are right. If you think you can't, you are right.

The good news is…thoughts can be changed.  (I love this!)

The mind is trainable. ‘I can’t’ can easily be changed to ‘I can’. It just takes practice.

Practicing meditation is one of the most effective ways to train your mind to be positive, focused and clear. It is a mental training. It changes the structure of our brain and shifts our thinking to a more positive state.
