Mindful Monday: What It Means To Belong

I want to share a beautiful experience I had last week—one that reminded me, once again, of the deep power of intention and the magic that happens when we gather together in community.

Last week, I attended a full moon circle hosted by my friend and radiant soul, Monique. I’ve been to many circles, but something about this struck a more resounding chord. I felt its impact gently and profoundly.

As I opened the wooden gate to Monique’s backyard, it felt like I was stepping out of my day and into something sacred. I could feel myself leaving behind the noise, the to-do lists, the worries.

One by one, each woman arrived, carrying her lawn chair, greeting others with warmth and familiarity. There was a quiet reverence and lightness in the air, like a homecoming.

We gathered around the fire, nestled among trees, cradled by nature like a cocoon. Monique held the space with care and presence, guiding us with intention.

Almost instantly, I felt my body begin to unwind—my breath grew deeper, my mind more at ease. My senses awakened: the sounds of birds singing, fresh air filled my lungs, and the beauty around me stirred something within. I felt deeply grounded—connected to the earth, to the women gathered in circle, and to something far greater than myself.

It was simple, yet profoundly deep.

In a world where so much feels uncertain and out of our control, I am continually reminded that there are things we can do—practices that bring peace, alignment, and harmony to our minds, bodies, and spirits.

For me, sitting in that circle was one of them. It was a beautiful demonstration of what’s possible when we gather in a safe and supportive space where we feel honoured.

When we left that night, I did not doubt that the energy we created-the love, the sacredness, the presence—rippled outward. I believe those ripples carried peace, hope, and healing not only to us but to all sentient beings.

If you would like to attend Monique’s full moon ceremony, she has asked that you contact me, and I will pass the info on to her.

I love circles. They have no beginning and no end, reminding me of eternity, wholeness, and connection.

Our ancestors gathered like this—around fires, under the stars—telling stories, singing songs, and honouring the earth and one another.

I believe that when we come together in a circle, we remember who we are and what it means to belong.

May we continue to gather.
May we continue to remember.
May we continue to ripple peace.

With love,

Diane
