Mindful Mondays: Are you ready to be happy?
We have a lot in common.
But sometimes it can feel like we are all alone and no one else could possibly understand or feel the same way we do.
Have you ever felt that way? I have.
I feel so grateful to connect with so many incredible people like you. I am constantly learning and growing.
What I have learned is this...
It doesn't matter where I go or what group of people I talk to - what I hear over and over again from them is they are longing to be happy and feel peace - but they don't know where to start. They are trying and searching and they never find it.
Why does it seem to be such a struggle? Or a mystery?
It was for me. I spent so many years searching for peace and happiness. It was exhausting and very disheartening.
We are taught that peace and happiness come from the outside...
what we have, what we do for work; what we look like; being in a relationship, getting stuff.
All of these things are great - but they are not the source of our peace.
Things on the outside are constantly changing.
So if I am relying on something on the outside for peace - what happens if it goes away? Then so does my peace.
True peace is eternal and it lies within each and every one of us.
If you don't feel connected to peace, it is simply because you are caught up in the chaos and negativity of the mind.
There is too much stress in your mind and body, you are rarely in the present moment, and there is no space for the peace to reveal itself.
If you long for peace and happiness stop searching for it.
This week take time to stop and 'be'.
Create space in your day to meditate.
Go for a walk in nature.
Listen to your body.
Follow your joy.
Practice being your own best friend.
May you discover the peace that lies within you.
May you share it and enrich others lives.
May you go to bed at night feeling grateful and content.
