Authentic Stories & Mindful Living—One Moment at a Time
Mindful Monday: No One Can Take Our Peace Away - Unless We Let Them
I am writing this with deep gratitude for your overwhelming generosity, love, support, prayers, and kindness over the last few weeks. It gives me strength and provides healing on so many levels.
I’d like to share a bit more about my experience and holding on to inner peace.
Mindful Monday: When a Car Crashes into Your House, Things Change
I know many of you have heard the news by now and I wanted to provide an update. For those who haven’t, on Sunday October 27th at 3:30am a drunk driver crashed into the front of my home and drove into my living room, just a few feet from where I was sleeping.
Mindful Monday: The Softer Side of Letting Go
Within the practice of mindfulness, the term “Let it go” (i.e. your thoughts, feelings, emotions, situations) is a common theme that comes up quite a bit.
Mindful Monday: Courage + Sacred Space = Healing
I recently facilitated a weekend mindfulness workshop called 'Awakening the Anchor' for the wives of veterans who have PTSD or an OSI (Operational Stress Injury).
I am humbled, honoured and have deep gratitude for having shared in this incredible opportunity.
Copy of Mindful Monday: Don’t take it personally…
Friends, last week I spoke with you about how much my own inner peace means to me, and the importance of letting things go that get in the way of that peace.
Mindful Monday: Lessons in Traveling Light
My sister, Shelley is a well-seasoned traveler and knows all of the in’s and out’s of packing only the essentials. On our last trip together, I was not so successful. I left it all to the last minute (not usually the way I roll) and brought WAY too much stuff. You just never know what you’re going to want to wear, right?
You know where I have learned to travel light? In life.
Mindful Monday: Savouring Simple Moments
I have had a few really wonderful weeks. I travelled with my sister to a wedding in Montreal and had so much fun there exploring, eating, walking and spending time with good friends.
Getting out of our everyday lives can be a wonderful break sometimes; mixing things up, fresh surroundings, unique experiences.
Mindful Monday: Are You Picking Up What the Universe is Putting Down?
I usually hate bats. They’ve always freaked me out; creepy, dark and too closely linked to vampires. You know, the stuff all scary movies are made of.
Mindful Monday: How Being Present Allows for the Greatest Life Experiences
I just returned from a road trip with my family to Prince Edward Island. It was fabulous!
Mindful Monday: Don’t Fight the Flow!
Do you ever have one of those days when you’re totally in the flow?
You know - when synchronicities happen left, right and centre; ideas flow, you meet the right people at the right time, you think of something and it appears, and everything seems effortless.
Mindful Monday: Opening Our Hearts to Better Understand Others
I am constantly learning and growing with the work I do. I meet incredible people, witness deep transformations, and am in awe of the strength and resilience of the human spirit.
Currently, I’m working on a project that is deeply touching and is changing me in so many ways.
Mindful Monday: Healthy Habits are Hard Work!!
Back in January, I shared with you that I had started working out at a gym. It felt amazing on so many levels and I loved it!
Fast forward to the month of May and I had stopped going; for four weeks straight I did not attend one class.
Mindful Monday: Having the Courage to Show Up for Ourselves
I recently held a weekend retreat and the amount of courage and transformation I witnessed was incredible. I am in complete awe of these wonderful people that I am fortunate enough to share my journey with.
We gathered as strangers on the Friday evening, created a sacred, safe space, and by Sunday we had bonded and connected on a very deep level.
Mindful Monday: The Importance of Human Connection
My mom just turned 87 and she is one of the hippest people I know. Vibrant, funny, beautiful, intelligent (she keeps me up to date with all of the world affairs), deeply spiritual, and an incredible cook.
I take full advantage of celebrating her greatness on Mother’s Day and year round.
Mindful Monday: Being Open to Life’s Unplanned Moments
Last Friday I woke up and had my day all planned. And then – life happened.
Three of my clients cancelled their coaching session which was unusual. After the third cancellation I decided to sit, relax and meditate. It felt so good that I thought ‘why not call this day a day off’? So I did. I had my own retreat.
Mindful Monday: The Serenity of Silence
Last week I was listening to people on CBC radio reminiscing about the Notre Dame Cathedral. I loved what one man said, that what he remembered most was the sound of the silence in the cathedral; how the silence was alive, how beautiful it was, and also how rare it is to experience silence of this quality today.
Mindful Monday: We Have More in Common than You’d Think
One of the things I love the most about teaching a group class or doing a talk on mindfulness is that, as people begin to open up to the group, everyone begins to realize how much we have in common with one another.

Mindful Monday: Striving for Perfectionism = Exhaustion, Emptiness + Overwhelm
Both in everyday life and on social media, there are a lot of people presenting themselves and their lives as being perfect when really, on the inside, they are feeling exhausted, empty, and overwhelmed.
Mindful Monday: Is Anxiety Robbing You of Happiness?
When I get up in the morning I might have a game plan of how my day is going to go, but most of the time it doesn’t go exactly as planned. And sometimes not at all. Can you relate?
I can plan for my day but I can’t predict the future.
