Authentic Stories & Mindful Living—One Moment at a Time
Mindful Monday: What area of your life are you tolerating?
I don't know about you, but I love this time of year. While all seasons offer their own beauty, there’s something magical about Fall.
I take a walk almost every day along the river. The colours, the air, the beauty - it is so peaceful. For me, spending time in nature is a great way to relax and be in the moment.
Mindful Monday: I learned this from my coach...
I don't know about you, but I have spent years over complicating everything. Now...I'm way more interested in keeping things simple.
So of course I want to share this with you!
Neuroscience has now proven that practicing mindfulness changes the structure of your brain. That's pretty amazing, don't you think?!
How does this change happen? By making one simple choice at a time.
Mindful Monday: Thoughts aren't the problem. Thinking is.
Would you say your mind has a lot of thoughts?
Well, the average person thinks 60-80,000 thoughts a day! That’s a lot of thinking. No wonder most people are rarely present in the moment.
This is the deal…
Thoughts aren’t the problem, thinking is.
Mindful Monday: Have anxiety? You’re not alone.
Do you ever have anxiety or know someone who does?
I sure do. Anxiety is on the rise.
For years I had anxiety and it was all-consuming. My mind was going non-stop, and it was constantly worried about when my next anxiety attack was going to be. This worry and obsession with my anxiety created MORE anxiety in the body. It became a vicious cycle and it was so frustrating!
Things began to change when I started to meditate.

Mindful Monday: Are you 'shoulding' on yourself?
Ok - I have a question for you.
How many times a day do you say the word ‘should’?
a.) lots!
b.) once in awhile
c.) never
Thoughts are powerful. We've talked about this lots before, right?

Mindful Monday: Is life fun or REALLY serious?
I've been wondering lately....where did all the fun go??
We live in a society that all too often associates being a responsible grown up with being super serious and not very fun.
As a result, a lot of times we take ourselves and life WAY too seriously.
We laugh less.
We have fun less.
And we stress more.
It doesn’t have to be this way.

Mindful Monday: Are you connected to your body? Try this.
Here's some food for thought on Monday morning...
Our bodies like to be acknowledged just like you and me.
But a lot of times, our bodies are in one place and our minds are somewhere else.
We don’t tune into the body unless we are experiencing pain or discomfort.

Mindful Monday: Notice Yourself Sitting in the Chair. Yep. That’s it!
You sit at different times during the day, right?
Maybe on a beach chair or patio this past weekend! How often do you notice how you feel when you are sitting?
Most people say - not much.

Mindful Monday: Is Your Monkey Mind Going Nonstop? Try This.
It’s the beginning of the week...
Which means your checklist is probably extra-long and your monkey mind is jumping all over the place.

How about sending your mind on vacation this summer?

Mindful Monday: Calling All Control Freaks! Are you ready to let go?
Do you ever wake up in the morning, have your day completely planned in your head and it doesn’t turn out that way?
Happens all of the time, right?

Mindful Mondays: Trilliums don’t try to be like tulips. Right!
Sometimes...
We can get so get up in the busyness of our thinking and our life that we aren’t aware of anything else – including the beauty around us (or within us).
