Authentic Stories & Mindful Living—One Moment at a Time
Mindful Monday: Want a quick pick-me-up?
Wanna a quick pick-me-up?
Devote your week to being kind.
Especially to someone you find annoying or you don't get along with.
It's free. And it's a choice.
Mindful Monday: 'I can't meditate with lots of thoughts' It's NOT true.
The most common comments I hear from people about meditation are....
"I can't meditate because I have way too many thoughts."
And the one I used many times when I first started...
"I can't meditate this week because I am too stressed out."
These are not true.
If these were true - I wouldn't be meditating.
Mindful Monday: Want to change the outside in 2017? Start with the inside.
I feel so grateful for the work I do. I have the honour of witnessing people grow, feel happier, more positive and start to make choices to live their life fully.
How does it get any better than this?
When I meet a client who's life is filled with chaos or they aren't fulfilled - it is guaranteed their mind is chaotic and filled with limiting beliefs that are stopping them from moving forward and seeing who they really are.
Mindful Monday: Do you ever feel alone or disconnected?
I've mentioned it before and I'll say it again...
We have a lot in common.
I'm not talking about what we have or what we do.
I'm talking about who we are at the core.
As humans, we basically long for the same thing.
Connection and Love.
Mindful Monday: 2017: Are you focused on what you want...or don't want?
Happy 2017! It is a new year filled with possibilities.
So the big question is...
What do you desire in 2017?
Have you taken time to reflect on this?
(if you haven't, it's not too late!)
Mindful Monday: When you are in the flow
Do you ever have one of those days when you feel like you are totally ‘in the flow’?
When synchronicities happen left, right and center; you meet the right people at the right time, and everything seems effortless.
How does this make you feel?
Mindful Monday: [GIFT INSIDE] For you and your family to feel peace + calm
One of the most rewarding experiences I had this year was teaching mindfulness at a public school to over 800 children. I also did a talk on mindfulness for the parents at this school. Incredible!
When the children came up and thanked me it made my heart sing.
Mindful Monday: Is Your Mental Checklist Controlling You?
You know what - we have a lot more in common than we may realize.
For one thing, we've got a mind...
And sometimes this mind likes to chatter about random things. (Agreed?)
Including Mental Checklists. You know - that 'to do' list that runs through your head.
Mindful Monday: Tis the season to be...jolly, sad and stressed.
December is an interesting month. It can be filled with so many different feelings, emotions, expectations, and busyness.
For some people this holiday season is a real celebration - they love it! And for others, this holiday season will be very challenging.
Mindful Monday: When someone takes YOUR parking spot!
I know this is a VERY deep topic today and something we can all relate to.
When someone takes YOUR parking spot!
It happened to me on Black Friday. I went to the mall. (I forgot it was Black Friday. Oops!) and the parking lot was packed. I kept circling around to find a spot and finally I found one. So I put my blinker on and I waited (it felt like forever) until the person pulled out.
{Video} Mindful Monday: Do you want peace? Stop searching for it.
I know you have a busy day.
Do you have 2 minutes to spare?
This is the key to experiencing peace...
Mindful Monday: Out of 16 waking hours how often are you fully present?
Ok - I have a question for you...
Out of 16 waking hours how much of that time are you fully present?
a couple of hours, a couple of minutes
When you wake up in the morning, are you present as you start your day? Having a shower, eating, getting dressed?
Or is your mind already at work, and a mental checklist is running through your head telling you all of the things you have to do.
Mindful Monday: Now observe your breath. You’re in the present!
A lot people think practicing mindfulness is WAY too complicated for them.
Well, surprise, surprise it’s not.
Try this today….
Anytime you become aware you’re not present you are present.
Mindful Monday: This is what I learned from a 6 year old....
I recently bought a painting. The artist picked it out just for me and I absolutely love it. It's called 'Super Star' and everytime I look at it it makes me smile.
Who's the artist? My great-niece Annie.
Annie is 6 years old and she took it upon herself to organize her own art show to raise money for a children's hospital. Pretty incredible, right?!
Mindful Monday: Are you addicted to being busy?
We live in a funny world. It seems everywhere you go people are telling each other how busy and stressed out they are.
When you see someone they ask,
“How’s it going?
Are you keeping busy?”
We wear it like a badge of honour.
Mindful Monday: What area of your life are you tolerating?
I don't know about you, but I love this time of year. While all seasons offer their own beauty, there’s something magical about Fall.
I take a walk almost every day along the river. The colours, the air, the beauty - it is so peaceful. For me, spending time in nature is a great way to relax and be in the moment.
Mindful Monday: I learned this from my coach...
I don't know about you, but I have spent years over complicating everything. Now...I'm way more interested in keeping things simple.
So of course I want to share this with you!
Neuroscience has now proven that practicing mindfulness changes the structure of your brain. That's pretty amazing, don't you think?!
How does this change happen? By making one simple choice at a time.
Mindful Monday: Thoughts aren't the problem. Thinking is.
Would you say your mind has a lot of thoughts?
Well, the average person thinks 60-80,000 thoughts a day! That’s a lot of thinking. No wonder most people are rarely present in the moment.
This is the deal…
Thoughts aren’t the problem, thinking is.
Mindful Monday: Have anxiety? You’re not alone.
Do you ever have anxiety or know someone who does?
I sure do. Anxiety is on the rise.
For years I had anxiety and it was all-consuming. My mind was going non-stop, and it was constantly worried about when my next anxiety attack was going to be. This worry and obsession with my anxiety created MORE anxiety in the body. It became a vicious cycle and it was so frustrating!
Things began to change when I started to meditate.

Mindful Monday: Are you 'shoulding' on yourself?
Ok - I have a question for you.
How many times a day do you say the word ‘should’?
a.) lots!
b.) once in awhile
c.) never
Thoughts are powerful. We've talked about this lots before, right?
